Password Change

I just tried to change my password (twice) and it won't take. I had to log back in with my old password. What gives?

Just as a note. The password I tried had four numbers, one Capital letter and one symbol. It was 14 digits total. All the check marks turned green and I confirmed it. Still a no go twice.

I did mine earlier and it was fine... Try it with less than 14 digits...

I just tried again. 10 digits, upper and lower case with 3 numbers and a symbol. I confirmed the new password and got all green check marks. It still did not take. It did let me log back in with the old password.

I just changed mine. All check marks went green and it was fine.

Are you getting any specific error messages or when you click the button to save the new password does the screen not refresh or redirect?

Have you cleared your cache and cookies lately?

Please try and keep all password related inquiries in the main password thread to limit the number or multiple posts on the same topic:

Attention - Password and Security Update

The screen did refresh and I got a message saying I used an invalid user name or password. It also said I had 4 or 5 more login tries or I will be locked out for 15 minutes.

HD When you get your e-mail message to change the password, simply copy the new password in your email, (Might look similar to this IEj3dx3$YF622jp) and paste it to the "Current password" or top box. Then type your new password into the second and 3rd box and save...

If you try and change before you get the e-mail, you may have issues.

That may be the problem. I have not received an e-mail to change the password. I just tried to change it in the User CP after seeing the thread and it does not work.

OK. I got the email and changed the password. It also changed my user name. I didn't know that I needed to change both. The email gave me a password which I copied and pasted. Can I now change my password to something that is my choice?
Thanks Oilcan

Yes, you put their password in the top box and your new one (you made up ) in the next 2 boxes.
If you have already passed that stage, you can go back to your account and change it to what ever you like as long as you have a Capital, a symbol, a number and some letters making it 10 characters long. (example for pass word) HARLEYdog$1
