Rincon VIN Location

I need to be able to have the Sheriff come out to my place and Validate all the VIN numbers on all my vehicles so I can switch them all over to Nevada Registration. It looks like the VIN for the Rincon is stamped on the front of the frame according to the Manual. If this is the case, it looks like I am going to have to remove my Winch Mounting Plate which looks like it is covering up the stamped VIN on the Rincon Frame. Am I looking in the right place? I can find no other place it might be other than under the Mount Plate on the Frame cross piece below it.

Here ya go Harley....

You can see it behind the winch, also on the right front frame (the sticker)

If you have a steady hand, shove your camera in there and take a few shots, one of em should show it ok, w/o having to remove the front end.

If all I had to show was the Bill of Sale I would. They are going to send a Sheriff to my house to physically see and sign off on all VIN #s on all 8 of my vehicles. Once that is done I can go to the DMV and get new Registrations on everything. Normally I would have to take the vehicle to the DMV and they would check it, but because I have so many vehicles they are kind enough to send out a Sheriff to do it and then I only have to make one trip to the DMV.

I have unbolted the Winch Plate and slid it forward a couple of inches. I can barely see the VIN. I can see the last 4 or 5 digits, so I am hoping that will be enough for him. Other wise I will have to take a lot more off the Rincon to get a clear view of the number. They sure put it in a poor location. Even if I had no winch it would be hard to see.

While he is standing there, take a piece of paper and put it on top of the VIN plate, with the side of a pencil or crayon, rub the paper gently and the vin number will scribe onto the paper, then show him that.

This procedure is actually called something, but I dont remember..

that would work great kinda like exposing a filed down serial number on a gun.

I think you could stick a camera in there ... snap off a few shots and ... how do you say it Ultra... Wa La... presto.

makes sense, so many bad guys out there now, My neighbour leaves his 500 forman, 350 rancher and a kids quad sitting out on the back of his truck for days on end. One day he will awaken to see, all of it gone by simply stealing the truck. A dodge duelly 1 ton almost exactly like yours Ultra.

Are they stealable or am I being paranoid for my neighbour?

I gave my Douglas County Deputy a telescoping mirror and he looked at it himself.
