Carb / Fuel issue

Anyone have a suggestion.....I recently started my 03 650 and let it warm up. It has been extremely tough to start when cold. Well I forgot to turn the fuel on and it drained the bowl dry. Sure enough the float was stuck down when I turned the fuel on and proceeded to run out the tube at the bottom of the bowl.

I decided the pull the carb off, cleaned the bowl, jets and float. I also replaced the primer. My issue now is that it doesn't seem to be getting gas. It fires up after I prime it, but once it burns the small amount of fuel that the pruser pumps in, it shuts off.

These bikes are gravity fed right? No pumps to go bad? I'm still searching for a filter.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I don't know for sure but I think they are gravity fed. Is there a fuel filter? If so replace it. Have you pulled the pet cock out of the tank and cleaned it? Also try running ethanol free fuel for a while if you can find it. I live out in the country so we have a couple of stations that have it. Its about $.40 - $.50 more a gallon, but the $2-$3 you spend is cheaper than buying some additive and hoping it works.

The needle and seat need to be replaced. Make sure the float is adjusted correctly after you put in the needle and seat. Also check the float for cracks.
