Default New 2011 Rincon Engine Noise

Just bought new 680 Rincon and I'm concerned with some Engine noise. First there is a ticking or clicking noise at idle that goes away when I give it throttle. Next, there is this engine knock when accelerating at any speed. At cruising speed (wether it 30, 40, or 50 Mph) the engine purrs.
A friend is on his third Rincon and tells me all of it is normal. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks for your time.

Flip.

I would say its a normal Rinny, without listening to it. Its a good ATV to ride. I have bought mine new and I have almost 3000 miles on it. Never did anything to the engine except change oil.

At 100 miles you need to adjust the valves. Also make sure you are using at least 87 octane fuel, I use 91.

Going to agree with David and Harley. I think mine quieted down when I switched to mobil 1. Still makes a little noise, but you get used to it.

Ultra, Can we get the wiki back? That might help fliptash when the time comes to adjusting those vales, reverse override and more.

I have an 07 with 2400 miles on it and it ticks like a time bomb, I have checked the valves and they are fine. Just the nature of the beast.

I also use Mobil 1 4T Raceing Motorcycle Oil, do not use regular Mobil 1 Oil. I also must say that my Rincon purrs like a kitten. There is no ticking or knocking. I think I am one of the lucky ones.

Thank you all for your time and answers. I have an appt with the dealer next week for a valve adjustment and oil change...I'll voice my concern and see what they say.

Thanks Again

Welcome fliptash, As others have said, Normal.
One thing that causes you to hear the working parts inside of your engine is, the exhaust on a Rincon is quieter than most ATVs.
