Default Couple of questions for those who have had or done motor work?

I have been down for a couple months, waiting on funds to come in to fix the ole rincon. Well my little boat, not a ship, sailed in! I had planned on taking it to my mechanic, but he just went in for bypass surgery, and I am dyin to ride.. So, cleaned it up well after removing all center and engine plastics, and got the skid plates off.
I was hoping for bad valve, but as I figured, Cam chain. Went ahead and pulled the motor. Got it on a bench now. Wondering best way to get the nut off the torque converter if the top of the motor is dissasimbled? I see there is room for a small wrench behind the nut, is that the correct way? My local dealer is not very helpfull. They would do it, but do not want to do it If I have already removed the motor from the bike, they must need the money? I offered to pay for a couple hours of shop time, but no go. I do not trust many people working on my stuff, so I just take my time and read all the service manuals.

Other question is as follows, I am going to copy and paste from my other forum so things may be a little miss worded!

So, I am thinking swapping to a mudbuster cam? If I do that, it says it uses all the stock valves, springs, rods and rockers. Do I or should I switch the piston to a je 12.5-1, or stick with stock 10.1-1? Either way, I will only be running 93 ethanol free through it, or unless they quit carrying it then it will be 89 ethanol free. Cam should add a little power, I am guessing Piston would add even more? There is no bore needed with this piston, but recomended running premium or race fuel, from what others say. I plan on calling JE tomorow and see what they recomend!

Plan on having the head broke down, cleaned polished, maybe ported. May have cylinder honed, lower end of it is scorched a little, top end of it looks like factory. ever so fine cross hatches still visable!

I am looking for opinions or past or buddies experiences with either the cam or piston or both?

Hope some of yall can help me out or have some suggestions, thank you in advance for the help.

Oh also, I assume while the motor is on the bench is the best time to the brgr? Am I wrong?

Thought I had a signature, but it is an '05. 360 hrs, and 2000+ miles. I have had it for 3 years, and the tapping has been getting worse lately, finally slipped off there? I am going to go ahead and change ol chain and all the guides while in there, I gotta put a new water pump in it too..

Sorry just rambling, o.k. I'm done, lol. Thanks again fello rincon riders!

After enough reading and searching, a little trial and error, I got it all done. Cam..chain had slipped off. Replaced it, oil pump, waterpump, seals, tensioners and chain guides, rings, gaskets. Put the brgr in it, got it all back together, checked it over, gave the starter a bump, fired right up, I was impressed with myself. I am about 3 hrs into the break in persay, I will get a couple more hours on it, change the oil, and let her eat. I have only experienced 3/4 throttle so far with the brgr, but I was extremly pleased. I think rincons should come stock with the brgr, lol

Hah, you need a 32 mm wrench, and a 24 mm socket. I did not feel like spending $60 on a wrench I would use one time, so I found a piece of 3/16 steel, metric tape measure, and precise grinder cuts, 2nd attempt, worked well, then the TC, I had a 6" hose clamp wraped it around the tc, to fit right behind the bead, 3jaw puller, a little bump from battery impact drill and it poped off! Good luck
