Fastest Rincon on Planet Earth!!!!

That title should grab some attention

Here is the Mod project, this is what my tech. & I are going to do to my 680.

1. Bore out to 702cc
2. Wiseco 702cc high compression piston (10.25) $165.00 (Thumper Racing)
3. Port & polish head
4. Hotcams Mudbuster cam $160.00
5. Use Honda programmer to tune fuel map & raise rev. limiter 900rpm

I'm not sure how much top end I will gain, but I know it is going to dramatically improve the low end. I plan on taking pictures & taking notes of the entire process. Also a guy down the street has a mobile dyno unit, so I might have it dyno tested after I break in the new motor.

I'm betting I will be able to spank the 700 Grizzly (686cc) & won't be to far behind the Brute & the 800 Outy.
Ordered the Piston, Rings, & Gasket set yesterday, & the cam today!

Hope to have it all finished in a week or two!

If you get dyno runs and pics acomplished, your list will be my list next Fall. And I bet if the dyno run proves nice gains, a lot will jump on this bandwagon.

I should have my engine work done by the 5th of May, JE 12.5:1 piston, mudbusters cam, Dayna CDI, that should help...It would be nice to have a comparison between the 702 and just the 12:5??

DGL,28 Laws, Lifted, CDI, Snorkeled both ends, Piped, Jetted, Filtered full AP skids and ready for the deep holes JE 12.5:1 and mudbusters cam in by May 5th.

Good luck to you, but a word of advice~

If you don't increase the size of the already low, stock airbox size/volume, than you're going to effectively choke off that new big engine and you'll never experience all the power it has to offer. The stock-size airbox is already too little for the stock engines to breath very well, let alone for a "big-block" engine that needs to breath heavily to perform to it's capacity. Been there, tested that on the chassis dyno...

DaM! Zampinator, I was hoping you found away to drop another motor like the CBR-1000RR or 919 in the Rinny!~LOL

I don't think you'll spank a 700 Grizzly and regardless of how people feel about the belt drive so much can be done with it to add more top end as well as grab and put power down better. Unfortunately our Rinny transmission that is a blessing in someways is also a curse. There is a code for the 700 Grizzly most don't know about that will add very nice gains in performance on a stock model and if its piped and set up right, forget about it, its as mean as the Raptor 700. The deal with a Brute or Outy is there is no replacement for displacement and a V-TWIN motor.

I have the Thumper 702 as well as a Cam ready to drop in myself. I'll call you sometime so we can compare notes! The gains I'm looking for and almost bet will be found, is nice low and mid range improvements with a little more on the top. More can be gained on the top end but You have to find someone from Honda that worked on the Baja Rinny and good luck getting that info? From what Ive seen with the super Big Bore Rincons 802, Strokers Etc. is there set up for pulling and aren't really all that fast or quick compared to other machines in the class.

I would think that if you dropped in a Big Block chevy, you will have the same speed if you don't do anything to the gearing.

Unless you are talking fastest to 65 or 70mph.

Fastest, or quickest.
