Cool Canadian Long Gun Registry

See ya!!! Bye Bye... So Long.... :-)

If you live in New York State... ahem... I found this while I was reading about our LGR

New York State is also scrapping its own dumb gun control program, CoBIS. CoBIS was a ballistic fingerprinting program, with all guns sold in NY test-fired, and records kept of ballistics...but, after ten years and $40M, NOT A SINGLE CRIME WAS SOLVED. Like firearms licensing and registration, ballistic fingerprinting junk forensics is just a waste of money

You have NYC and NYS mixed up, they are not the same... For example, All NYC residence must register their Long Guns, unlike the rest of the state. NYC has its own rules and regulations.. The rest of the state including Long Island have nothing in common w/ NYC.. Thank God!

Not that long ago, an NCIC check wasnt even done when buying long guns from an FFL dealer, now it is. People like myslef w/ a CCW permit were able to walk in and buy a LG w/ no checking at all, you just needed your CCWP... Not anymore, they now do a NCIC check anyway. It only takes a phone call and 10 minutes, but still.

Cool, I copied that from a blog on the death of the Canadian Long Gun registry by the "Conservatives" up here... So I take it NYC is a lot more controlling, as compared to the rest of the state? Set me straight. :-)

Yes, big time!! NY as a whole though, excepts no other states permits but their own. So to own or carry in NYS, you need a NYS CCWP. To own or carry in NYC, you need a NYC CCWP

Owning a gun these days is like smoking cigarettes...they aren't hard to get, they just make it a pain in the ass to enjoy them anywhere

I hope this means it will be easier to transport rifles into Canada, And ammo.

I would like to go to S.W. Saskachewan and do some gopher control and it would be nice if it were easier.
