I do not feel insane. I do feel like we are about to make some sort of mistake....just not sure how bad of one we will make yet. Definite lesser of two evils kind of situation this time around.

2003 green Rinny (12,400 miles), "25" Bighorn Radials (white letters out) full of extra slime, water pump mod, no warning labels, E Trex, everything else like Mr. Honda made it. 2000 XR 400r (est 3,500 miles). RIDE RED EVEN IF ITS GOT GREEN PLASTIC!

2013 Yamaha Super Te'ne're' (27,400 miles in 22 months), 1996 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 (392,000 miles) on tight and original motor. 2001 4Runner (82,000 miles).

Both parties seem to have gone insane though....should be interesting.
I liked Rand too. You can say what you want about Ron and Rand, but they back their stances up with "What does the Constitution say?" Some of their stances over the years have kinda made me wonder, but then they pull the Constitution card and you can't argue with them.

Isn't EVERY election now the lesser of two evils?

Biggest thing Trump has going for him is the establishment from both sides hates him. I know if Klinton is elected we are screwed. If Trump wins we might be, or we might not be.

When faced with certain doom, or a chance, you take the chance every time.

The biggest thing Trump has going for him is his EGO, and that's putting it nicely.

Edit: news story out today- Big Wall Street donors have a message for Hillary Clinton: Keep Elizabeth Warren off the ticket or risk losing millions of dollars in contributions. “If Clinton picked Warren, her whole base on Wall Street would leave her,” said one top Democratic donor who has helped raise millions for Clinton.

The big banks have been screwing the American Public blind for decades. Too big to fail my ass...break 'em up and send those crooks to jail. If they hate Warren that much, that's enough for me to want her to win. She is one of the only politicians in Washington D.C. who actually represents the working class instead of the rich & powerful.

I would rather have an egomaniac than a "crooked" criminal.

Do you think Trump is any less crooked than Hillary? Trump is a con man/rip-off artist. Ever hear about 'Trump U"? Ever hear about all the suppliers/contractors he has not paid or failed to fully pay over the years? That's not because they did "inferior work" as Trump claimed...he just did not want to pay. Ever hear about his 'Trump Charity" organization? That is nothing but a front to avoid taxes and to create the illusion that Trump is a philanthropist, which he decidedly is NOT. Ever hear about his claim to have raised $6M for veterans, including $1M from himself? Turned out that was a lie; he contributed NOTHING until the news organizations shamed him into it.

Trump is only for himself. He wants to be President because it is just another thing to brag about. He is driven entirely by his own self-interest and once you learn about him (and his entire history is on display due to his attention-seeking narcissism), you see what a nasty, greedy asshole the guy really is.

That is why he has a 70% unfavorable rating and the more people learn about this shithead, the more people hate him.

Again, haven't been a huge Trumper, BUT CLINTON? Really? The MOST corrupt political family in this country EVER?

When faced with Hillary or Bernie, I would vote for Putin as my president before I'd vote for either of them.

Sadly, that's what our elections are now; voting for the opponent of the scumbag.

Yes, I think Trump is less crooked that Hillary. I have no illusions on what Trump is, but I also have no illusions of what Hillary is. We don't know what Trump will do, but we know what Hillary will do, and we know it will likely finish off what is left of this country.

Clinton et al is no more corrupt that pretty much ALL of the Federal Government these days. She is an Establishment Democrat, which means that, just like the Establishment Republicans, she serves the interests of the rich and powerful and fark all to Joe Citizen.

A Clinton administration would continue the giant sell-out of working class Americans to the wealthy, but at least the sell-out would be orderly and without chaos.

A Trump administration would completely blow up our government into a giant series of constitutional crisis if not full-on war with pretty much all the international community of nations. Some people think that is a good thing and want to see The Donald do precisely that. Me? I think this country needs a properly functioning representative government RIGHT NOW like we have never needed it before. China is in the ascension, Russa is hell-bent on re-establishing it's old USSR hegemony, the Islamic world (about 1/4 total global population) is coming apart at the seams, and we have numerous major environmental and societal crises to successfully navigate. Distracting our government by the inevitable histrionics which would attend a Trump administration would kill us as a first world nation, no doubt.

For the record, I HATE Hillary and loathe the very idea of her winning the Presidency. We will surely become a giant serfdom if she is elected and the growing Dept. of Homeland Security will ensure that an American Bastille Day could never happen. But we cannot let the foxes continue to run our henhouse and man, Trump is a golden example of the type of super-rich, super-greedy 'all-for-me' bastard that is killing our once great society.

Not only do we need to kick the puppets out of government, but we need to transform government so that government employees are actually accountable for their misdeeds. If Government ran more like private enterprise, and government employees could get fired or even jailed for incompetent or illegal behaviors, you would see government clean up it's act PDQ.

Jeepwm, you made a thread about Oregon. I live here and let me tell you about Oregon: In Lane CO where I live, the county commissioners are all set to close all the rural waste transfer sites (local dumps) because they will save about a half million $/year if they do. Meanwhile, they all just voted themselves 15% raises (to about $140,000/yr ea) and voted themselves a beautiful new $3 million city hall building, all in the face of widespread public condemnation. They are running amok with the power of office and using it to serve themselves, not We The People. And our governor, Kate Brown, can get no farther than "why you poor little babies, here, let me help you" in her understanding of governance and public policy. She is poster girl for what is wrong with the Liberals, just like Donald Trump is poster boy for what is wrong with Conservatives.

The whole situation is disgusting. Bernie and Elizabeth at least would direct their efforts at stopping some of the most egregious abuses by the rich special interests and try to return our nation back to the benefit of those of us who actually work and produce the wealth rather than just skim it all off the top.

You had me till you endorsed Bernie. Bernie is the epitome of everything you just said you were against. He has done nothing in his entire life but suck on the teat of the public. His pie in the sky plans have no funding, and while I have illusions that the corporatists haven't taken over the GOP, I also have no illusions of what a Bernie POTUS would bring us; more out of control govt spending with absolutely no means to pay for it. Everything Bernie proposes screams "Give up your liberty and let the government care for you". At least he, unlike Clinton, is honest about his batshit crazy ideas on where he wants to steer the country. Hillary "we don't want your guns but I support banning guns" Clinton is a Clinton. Nothing more needs to be said.

Our country will collapse, and it will not be from Muslim terrorists or other foreign enemies; it will collapse upon itself due to decades of loose fiscal policy. The dollar will be dumped as the global reserve currency and when that happens, the S will HTF. Not Mad Max SHTF, but the standard of living we have grown accustomed to is not sustainable and will not exist in the long term.

That's why I liked Rand. There were things he said that I didn't neccessarily agree with (cut handouts to Israel, for example) but then he made the point that we, as a nation, are bankrupt, so why would we send money to ANY other country? I support Israel and the right of Israel to exist, and to do whatever they have to do to exist, but should we be sending money to any country? What does the Constitution say? He and his Dad, at least, were willing to call out the idiots on a "reduced deficit", pointing out that it was still a deficit, and that the long term consequences of our fiscal policies will be disastrous. They seemed to understand what is coming, and were the only ones brave (or foolishly honest) enough to call it what it is.

So we're left with a scam artist (or two) and a self described socialist. Stop the ****ing train, I want off before it goes over that cliff.

James...if you are done huffing and puffing, and the dizziness from lack of oxygen has worn off....remember, Pocahontas ain't on the ticket. Two women will not win the White-house....even crooked Hillary knows that. She will pick a Veep with a set of nutz.

While I am not a fan of Trump...I will vote....and I will not vote for another Clinton.

Remember my prediction? Look for Warren entering the fray for President in mid-to-late September, probably with Sanders as VP. I've now said that here or RR three times ;-)

Pretty good rant, you gotta admit, eh? LOL. Plenty of oxygen here, trust me. Like Trump once said: "No problem there".

Jeepster, I'm not really endorsing Sanders. I'm just sayin' that he said a lot of things during his run that really resonated with a hell of a lot of people and he built a populist campaign that went from nowhere to 'almost' getting the nomination in about 4 months. THAT is how angry the liberal base is. Just as mad as the conservative base. And I don't think Sanders would ever make a decent president; I don't think he has the temperament for it. Heard that before? :-) And of course I don't believe the government can afford to hand out college and health care and what all free without bankrupting the country. However, other countries do a lot better than we do in serving their publics...why can't we do the same? (of course the answer is there is too much money to be skimmed by keeping the status quo).

Warren, OTOH, would kick ass. I really do think that, but I've been wrong before. Just ask Corndog.

Anyway, it seems that you and I are pretty much in agreement across the board, except maybe for which box gets checked at the end of the day. Focus on what we have in common, not our differences. That advice applies to the entire electorate, and we would be better for it.
