rincon will not rev up and will only go 5mph

Ok while riding the rincon all of the sudden it just lost power. It will start and ideal fine but it will not rev up. When you give it gas it will bog down and die when you let off. At one point I got an 8.1 FI code so I replace the sensor set on the side of the throttle body. I also changed the fuel filter. It is still doing the same thing and I don't know what else to try. Maybe the Mass air flow sensor or the injector. Anybody have any ideas

Oil level and air filter OK? The gearheads will jump in here to give you some ideas I'm sure.

Welcome to the site..

How many hours and miles? Sounds like it could be the fuel filter, check the battery terminal connections as well..

I had a similar problem with my 03 it turns out it was corrosion in my fuel tank strainer not letting enough fule thru to the carb. As soon as I cleaned it and then later replaced it, no more issues. You might want to check the prepcock unit in the fuel tank itself.

There isnt a fuel petcock on the FI models. The only filter is in the fuel pump sump.

I just changed the fuel filter and it was dirty, but it is still doing the same thing. I'm not sure how many miles I've got on it now. I recently let a buddy ride it and he rolled it in a pond. I've changed the oil like 6 times already. It was running fine except it wasn't shifting into 3rd gear but I assume that is because of left over tranny fluid I put in it to absorb some of the moisture. I will check the battery. I just put a new oddysey battery in it and we had to rig it up to get it to work. The terminals were on the wrong side and the cables wouldn't reach. Do you think it could be in limp mode? If so how do you reset the computer?

I'm back offshore now but I have a buddy doing the work on it. He rides the rincon as much as me. Actually the rincon is the bike that everybody rides when their polaris brakes. It was funny because we had been talking about that when the rincon started doing this.

Have you drained the fuel tank, I have seen issues with other bikes where they would start and idle fine, but die when you tried to go. when they had water in the tank. if your friend rolled in the pond could have easily gotten water in the tank.
