I normally trail ride alone and tie a small gas can on the front rack of my Rincon (luckily I've never run out, but I've helped 3 groups out on the trails...). I'd like a better way to carry fuel. Anyone know a good set up to carry fuel?

Thanks VikingRock and everyone on this thread for the input. I ordered a single 2 Gal rotopax and single mounting plate. It will mount nicely. I won't get to test it out for a few weeks, but hoping to make a trip to Hatfield McCoy this spring. I'm going to search here for Hatfield McCoy threads, or I'll start a new one.

VikingRock - I have a single mounting plate (from the photos it appears you have a double mounting plate). The single plate nestles nicely between the bars of the front rack (the flanges on each end rest on top of a bar, and the body rests between the bars). Unfortunately, the fastener holes in the mounting plate do not allow the channeled clamps to reach the bars (they are meant to straddle the bars).

It looks like you anticipate the mounting plate centered on the front rack's main bar. This would be perfect, and the fastener holes look like you could clamp to that bar. But the mounting plate doesn't reach the bar closer to the front of the Rinny,

Any ideas how to mount the plate?

I finally made some longer nylon boards and mounted it. Not thrilled. I will be reaching out to Rotopax tomorrow. I pretty sure I'm missing something.....

I actually used two single mounts instead of one double. It gave me a few more mounting options. Rotopax has extra mounting and backing plates that would have probably make the install a little easier, but I had already spent enough money so I wasn't paying another $25-$50 for their plates. I had to do a little ******* engineering but when the pax are in place you can't tell the difference. Basically all I did was sandwich the rack inbetween the RotoPAX mounts and my homemade backing plates. I took another look, and it looks like you can do the exact same thing on the front rack (see below pics).

Keep us posted on when your going to H&M. I've been there twice in the last 6 months with Philcod and it's an awesome place to ride. Maybe we could plan another trip and meet up on the trail somewhere.

This pic shows the bar that you can attach the mount to when a single 2gal. Rotopax is positioned on the center of your front rack.

I did a little ******* engineering of my own. I bought one of their $25 plates and then used nylon boards to clamp it to the rack. If I get a chance, I'll post some photos.
I wish it sat back a little further (similar to the photo you posted of a single 2 gal on the front). Mine site just forward an inch or so more than I like. but it is secure and still well behind the bumper so it won't be the first thing to hit a tree!

Just a follow-up. I ran into a group at Hatfield McCoy a couple weeks ago. One guy was on a brand new Razor. He showed me a video of his last Razor that was almost brand new. It was burning and melted down to nothing. Apparently a spare fuel can on the back of his machine started the fire. Not sure of all the circumstances, but he said the rear deck would get very hot because the exhaust was routed right under it. He also said that there was a recent recall on the unit because of the heat transfer to the deck. I'm posting this as a reminder because a lot of people commented on how much thought they put into where they mount spare fuel. I don't know if any place is better than another, but sure is worth thinking about it again......
