even issues

hi guys. have a 2003 rincon 650. it started fine. give it any throttle and it dies. dealership said ecu after 480.00 worth of fiddling on it. i took it home after a 1200.00 estimate and spent 200 on ebay for used ecu and tcu(i believe). took it apart, replaced both and now it won’t even start. turns over just fine, fuel is good. i have not put all the parts back on it except plugging in all connections and battery. i did not want to put the racks and plastics back on just to have to pull them back off. hoping it’s a possible ground issue but all the electronics work fine. looking for some help please. thanks.

tested spark plug it’s good. put the old ecm and tcm back on. still won’t start. turn key over and get - - with esp under it although it’s in auto mode. cranks over but won’t start. i’m not very technical or have a bunch of money for manuals and “try this” parts.

It sounds like you have gone through the electrical system, now it's time to go take a look at the fuel system.

An often overlooked simple fix is the kill switch on the handle bar. Move it back and forth a few times, try again... The blinking dashes also tell a story... count the blinks, like Morse Code... short and long blinks can lead you to a possible issue. A manual is mandatory and an investment in time/money saving. If your going to attempt to fix the Rincon with out one, .....then expect to supply "try this " parts and spend a lot of time staring at stuff you have no clue about.

well i screwed up. i put 2007 when it’s actually a 2003. there are no blinking - - codes when i turn the key on. the kill switch is good. the green neutral light comes on but there’s no N on the screen for neutral. i held down the up and down shift buttons and turned the key but no codes.

So if there is no gear or N indication, first possibility would be the gear position switch... try grabbing the left handlebar brake lever while pressing the start button....(that over rides the switch) so you can start it in gear.
