Good morning guys and gals,

I just wanted to say hello to all and introduce myself. I just bought a 2009 Honda Rincon TRX 680, It was running when the guy posted the ad, then the Stator went out so, I bought it cheaper with the Stator being bad supposedly. I played with it yesterday and I really think it's more of a wiring problem and battery issue. I got it to fire up after using my jumpbox and cleaning up some aftermarket wiring. I still need to probably replace the battery and other stuff once it all comes to surface.

Can you guys please tell me if when I switch from Neutral to drive, Neutral to Reverse, that it wants to Grind before dropping into gear. Is that something normal for these bike ? The original owner said I need to switch it into gear very fast. My buddy said that the Idle is probably too high to lower and try that out.

Thanks for all the help.

Agree on the idle may be to high.... attach a "tiny tach" and see what it actually is. You also may try cleaning the IACV. When dirty it raises the RPM.
