I think the owners manual states to ride it easy for the first 15 miles / inital break in. It's been a couple of months since I thumbed through it though.. Thats what I did, then pin the throttle and see what she will do. I have been riding it hard ever since. 8 1/2 weeks old and 527 miles on it with no problems to speak of engine wise.
superfly- I just got my valves checked and had a K&N Airfilter with Prefilter and DynoJet kit installed.I have 115 miles on mine.
Yes you can tell a difference right away.No more low end bog not that there was much to begin with.The wheels come right off the ground now very easily.well worth the money.
My mechanic said my Intake valves needed a little adjustment so Im glad I had them checkd
The manual only states not to run it very hard (over half throttle) and no full throttle starting until after 15 miles. I didn't run her that hard until well after 200 miles. I say on the average a good break in is 200-300 miles.
