Tired of peeling camo, seeing a few other folks using camo clad with good results I placed an order for G2 series.






Racks turned out great.

Another set of hands would have been great, lol. Not bad at all, but with the curves and angle of the rincon plastic the wrinkles are tough to work out. Heat gun does work as shown in the videos. Molds well to the humps around the warning stickers and fender sides.

Let everyone know how it lasts to water and mud.

I watched their video and was wondering how bad those relief cuts show up?

Did you do it the same way that they showed in the video?

I was thinking that taking off the individual pieces of plastic, applying the material and they reassembling the plastic would give cleaner lines.

I removed all of my plastics, makes for very clean lines.

No relief cuts as the video shows, but with the rincon plastic its tough not to have some wrinkles without those cuts. Use a heat gun to lightly warm the camo, it will shrink a bit, but left under heat to long you will get heat damge, and handles like a wet noodle.

The deluxe atv kit, i was able to cut both rear fenders, sides, door, and pod with one sheet. The second sheet was used for the front fenders with some left over. I wanted that for a few other small cover projects. A second or third person helping on the front fender could be done in one piece.

Everything was covered in one piece except for the front fender. I covered the left and right sides just wide enough to get through the inner valleys, and stretch just over the radiator opening. the third just up the middle. Use a jagged edge cut, try to follow the branches or patterns. Does work well.

Cut enough for over the edges, warm them up, and fold tightly. The rolled edges will stay in place. Easy to work with.

2am day in review, happens alot. most of the time, well, often. Squirrel!

Surface Prep! #1. Ol'Rusty plane stripper, gel type in the can. Used this to remove spots of the honda camo that chose to actually stay on the plastics. Soap and water to clean, then mineral spirits for surface prep.

I also used a small grinder to remove the rincon emblem on the pod, hardly tell if your close to it. Have big scratches, use 600 grit to smooth them down a bit.

several mud rides, deep water holes (just over the motor, i have no snorkel), and a couple power washes just for good measure, everything looks as the day i covered it.

6 month mark next.

Update? You have me seriously interested. They should give you commission. I'd be filling out my credit card info if they're weren't so many awesome choices!! I googled "camo clad" and went with their website.

Which kit do you order? I looked the deluxe economy kit. 40 sq deet( 2 sheets) for $120. Says its permanent .
I also saw deluxe premium kit, 40 sqft, 2 sheets but says removable. My plastics are screwed so I doubt I'd ever remove it.

Last question, my plastics are red, I was wondering about hitting them with some sandpaper , then a coat of black self etching primer in case I get nicks and scratches it won't be like HERE I AM! I'm supposed to be red! Let me out!

Difference is with the application. The economy sheet will stick with the first touch to the plastic. The premium 3m backing will allow you to remove the piece you cut several times to the point you apply pressure to the camo. At that point it sticks to the plastic. Go to the faqs page, there is a video there of how the bond sets with the new 3m adhesive.

I had several scratches that were deep. Used 80 grit wetsanding to even the scratch edges with the surface of the plastic. No need to buff up the rest of the plastic. You wont even see the scratch unless its a wide gap.

The gauge cluster has an emblem circle with rincon in the center. I sanded that down, you cant see it with the camo over it.

You will have some left over. Never know what may happen. Seal the camo over the edges, take your time. Looks great today, as the day i installed it. What impresses me, with the edges wrapped on the fenders, you can see it from the tire side of the fender. just a little bit. That area shows no signs of peeling or bubbles. Wrinkles are hard to get away from, more so in the tank area, and forms in the fenders. Push them out the best you can.

Doubt the red show through the Camo, has a nice grey under layer. Not sure how long the black paint would hold up on the tire side of the fender with rocks, etc.

When you say "seal the camo" over the edges, I'm not following you. Sorry, have ZERO experience with vinyl work. Forgive me for silly questions!

sorry CJ, I leave out details when items are in front of me. No silly questions at all.

You will want .25" or so to wrap over the edges to the underside of the fender. Use your finger to mold the camo over or just a bit of heat from a heat gun or good hairdryer. Not much. I advise to take a small scrap piece and use the heat gun on it to get used to seeing what is too much heat or too little. Most of the wrapped edges i just used my fingers unless it was a molded spot like around the rear fenders in the seat area. Little trying there, but you will get it.
