front diff. locker

Has anyone put on or know of anyone who has put on the highlifter (or similar) Detroit front differential locker. I really don't like the limited slip b/s when you are buried up to your nads and only one front wheel is spinning, but don't know if it is worth the cash.

I had a old style Locker in 1 of my old 450's and it was pure hell to ride on the trails..The new Detroit Gearless from High Lifter is great..You barely notice it being there until you get in the mud and see all 4 spinning! If you are wanting 1 to put in your Rincon though, get ready to dig deep in your pocket..I think for the Rincon they run close to $500 and you have to let them install it because the gears have to be machined in the front differential..You can put 1 of the old style Locker's in for less than $200 if you do it yourself, but if ride very many trails get the Gearless if you really have to have "True 4wd"!!
Where is a site to get a locker? I have been looking into getting one. But all my research I can not find a site that sell one for an atv, or have any extensive research on them! I ordered the BRGR for my con but I also want a locker.
I installed the one listed above (from High Lifter). I LOVE it. in 4x4, steering is more difficult, but in 2x4 no difference in steering. Best mod i have made, it will go anywhere with a locker. It is a crime that honda doesn't make them with lockers. Spend the money now, and never look back.

Easy install too. Just need to get one part turned down on a lathe. I have a lathe and did it in 5 mins. But if not I am sure any machine shop would do it for a couple bucks.
Ur gonna love that brgr rookie
20Rincon07,

What part did you have to machine to install the locker?

The ring gear flange I believe. Check out the manual which is located in the link I sent above.

I don't see a link.

Oh wait you're talking about the one above. lol duh! Sorry, what was I thinking. haha
yes, it is the ring gear that needs machined down. DO NOT try to use an angle grinder, I have read where this does not work at all... Goodluck!
