Hi everyone,
I recently bought a new 2003 Honda Rincon and I'm looking to put some type of storage container on it. I looked at the Moose brand, but I wasn't really impressed with the product. I saw a Tamarack brand box that really looked good, but no one around my area sells them, so I can't see them up close and personal. Kimpex also has a good looking box. If anyone out there has had some experience with either of these boxes, could you please tell me what you think about 'em? Thanks! Karl

I don't have experience with these boxes. However I can tell you yhat your riding style and enviroment should be considered. On a recent trip to the Hatfield and McCoy trails in WV, I carried everyones gear in my rear bag. This became a large problem because I move around alot on my rinny (ex. muddin and hill climbing)The bag was always in my way, I kept thinking "Thank God I don't have a box back their." Also if you do alot of riding in hot and dusty or muddy areas do you want to put a bag or box upfront? It's tough enough keeping that radiator clean and clear of dirt/mud.If you figure out what works best pass it on I'd love to hear about it....stay safe and good luck

I have a Tamarack Front Box and use it on the front and back racks. It has locks and is dust/water resistant. It is high quality and should last for years. I highly recommend it. I am looking into a Moose rear bag that looks like it has a seat for a second passenger. It is a softbag set up with three compartments. It is reviewed in one of the (many different) recent ATV mags.

I would set up criteria to help you decide on what type you want, ie

1. hard or soft
2. front or back rack location
3. price
4. size
5. lockable?
6. waterproof?
7. etc....

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply guys! I bought a Kimpex Deluxe rear trunk box and it's got room galore. It'll carry most everything I need for just about anything I plan to do: hunting, camping, general riding. However, just for the benefit of smaller items, I'm considering the Tamarack front box. My only concern is where and how I'll mount my rifle/shotgun for hunting season next year. The boxes take up most of the room on the racks. I really like the Koplin gun boot due to the protection it gives the gun from the elements. Maybe I'll be able to fabricate something that'll work. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
