If that is what you want to use, go for it. It will work fine in the Rincon. There are other options out there for less than $11 a quart though.

Chill out, or you will never find much help here. We always stray off topic, read and move on if it annoys you.

Somebody here has likley tried the exact oil you reference, but they have not read it yet. But, many of us have tried motorcycle specific synthetic oils in the rincon and that knowledge is just as applicable. From previous postings most report better shift "feel" and a little more power. Also reported is better cold starting.

I use GN-4 in my rincon because when changing oil as often as I do on the ATV, synthetics would be a waste of my money. I swear by it in my road bike and use M-1 4T (10w-40). Synthetics are a great choice and as long as JASO MA rated for wet clutch usage, will do almost everything better and longer than dinosaur oil.

But lets be honest, changing oil every 600 miles or in my case 1,000 miles means good old fossil oil is no where near used up.

My thoughts on the price of the synthetic is that it's only $4 more a qt than the gn4 that I'm using now. For a mere $16 more for an oil change to have the best im my engine plus I can probably extend my oil changes, seems like a no brainer. Heck i waste more money than that a week on beer and cigs, so a few bucks more twice a year is nothing. what is important is that the atv runs correctly so I can keep out doing all the kawai and yamaha I ride with. Guess I will just call Honda since no one here has tried it.

If you think that changing to a different type of oil is going to make any significant difference on how your Rincon performs your are as dense as you are rude. The guys on the forum took time to pass information to you that may be helpful. Next time if you don't want any one's other information or opinions why don't you be specific, you just say "Only Reply If You Have Used This Oil". Then when no one replies you can bitch about that. Lipcurl is a perfect name for you as when I read any of your posts that's what I did. Get a life and say "thanks but that is not what I wanted to know". Then explain yourself. By reading your post's I think you have explained yourself and don't be surprised if anyone tries to help you again.

Couldn't agree more with Harley Dog, and Corndog. I just had a hard time saying it nicely.

What is it with the name calling and personel attacks? Didn't your mother teach you that if you can't say something nice don't say anything??? And I'm the rude one......yea ok

I appreciate the few posters that actually tried to help but I thought my original post was clear.......Looking for someone that has used hp4s and there experience with the product.

Where did you possibly get the idea that I'm looking for better performance by using syn oil ??? Not my intention at all. I'm simply looking to upgrade my oil and hp4s is what I'm interested in. No different than getting a new set of bighorns. Definitely better than stock, just want better if it actually is. That's why I started this thread.

Lets start over...welcome to the site lipcurl. Now mister sensitive look at your reply. I quote..."Where did you possibly get the idea that I'm looking for better performance by using syn oil "....and then....." Definitely better than stock, just want better if it actually is"... all in the SAME PARAGRAPH.

Am I the only one who sees humor in this. My post alerted you to the benefits...of any synthetic....they are not that much different from each other and all better than GN-4. Its cheap, try some, tell us what we should know.

But never shoot the messenger buddy. This site will teach you what you will not get anywhere else about proper Rincon feeding and care.

Thanks for the welcome corn dog. Guess I need to toughen up some and do a better job of typing what I'm thinking. Doesn't always come out quite the same.

I'll give a review when I get some miles on the hp4s.

Thank God we all came to an understanding!! WElcome to the site Lipcurl and hope you find what you're looking for here. Let us know how that HP4s works out for you as far as shifting, performace and if it makes the engine run quieter.

What I like about this site is, if you ask I specific question. You are responded with a broad response so you dont just get your one answer... You understand the whole idea. Learn to be more like a sponge and take it all in. You don't need to toughen up... Welcome to the site and I hope you find the smart guys on this site as useful as I have.

welcome. if I were you i'd use the rotella t6 5w 40. it should do better in summer and winter because of the wider viscosity range and i'd bet it's better oil. you can get it for around 7 bucks a quart, or less when it's on sale. better oil for less money is always a good way to go.
