If the carb was a Honda part, the first thing I would look at is the rubber CV diaphragm. A machine that old, mine is an 03 too, likely has a worn timing chain and may also have jumped time a tooth on the cam.
Idles, but dies when giving it throttle
Hi, I recently purchased a 2003 Rincon 650 that did not run. The carb that came with it was a Chinese carb, so I did not bother cleaning it and instead bought a Chinese carb from Amazon to replace it. The ATV idles just ok after installing the new carb but dies when giving it any amount of throttle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I woulda started with an OEM carb.. Do you have the correct jets installed?

Thanks for the quick responses. I will probably try installing an OEM carb first, and if that does not help I will replace the timing chain.
