After a lot of diddling at 800' ABS with a Dyno-Jet kit, I like the #144 Dyno main with a stock Honda needle.

According to the Dyno-Jet man, the low speed screw on the bottom of the carb affects nothing after the throttle has been thumbed or, in my case, twisted. That makes perfect sense, when you consider the mechanics of the needle sliding up from the orifice of the main jet. (I think I'm getting an erection). Low speed = idle and any opening of the throttle past idle brings the needle into play until the carb is WFO and running fully on the main jet.

Response from the "git-go" depends more on the profile of the needle and how low it hangs into the main jet. It also hinges on DIAPHRAGM LAG. (Makes me wish for a big ol' Mikuni).

I'll do some experimenting by adding another shim to raise the stock Hona needle a bit.

Anybody seen the ads for the new Suzuki "King Quad" with electronic fuel injection that's coming out this summer?
