Some things never get checked. While riding and jumping my Rincon, I noticed a lot of wierd stuff going on in the ECU. Most notably was Limp mode, cutting in and out, and my oil light blinking. Would not shift and died in mid air once. My friend (also on a Red Rincon) mentioned that his son, and now mine had the same symptoms. I didn't think about the battery as I had been wet earlier and suspected wet components. Should have known better. Trail Fix! I inspected the battery to find the Positive (red) terminal was really loose, and the negative was also loose. Since retightening them (poor dealer set up is the complaint here, and the fact that it had just come from it's second full service) Anyway, don't use a thread locker on the threads because when the system is on, there is a small amount of heat generated and the terminals swell and contract. I keep this inspection as a mandatory look during the clean up after a ride. My Rincon runs great with almost 600 Km on it now!

BINGO...I had the same problem last week. I checked the ECU code (8) telling me to check pretty much every wire loom and connection on the bike (never the battery though). I just kept resetting it trying to continue my trip. Then at one point I shut off the bike and when I went to restart it, I got no power at all. Immediatly I start thinking fuses, Circuit breakers, computers and such and a buddy says "Did you check the battery?" "Uhhhhhh? Duuuuhhh..Noooooo. I tapped on the cover and the display lit up. The last people to touch the battery was the dealer who fixed a fan that never came on (loose wire..funny huh). By the way if you bike is ever idling and happens to boil over... see if the fan is running.

Yep Me TOO! Had the same issue a few rides ago. I thouht it was a dealer setup issue but all these complaints make me thing Diffrent? Maybe its the design of the batter connection or just the bolt??? Who knows, I might put a lock washer on it if it happens again.
