In Phil's of St. George post on rejetting, he said he uses a #40 pilot jet. I would like toknow the reason for going from a #50 to a #40. I don't see why you go bigger on the main and then back off of the pilot and raise the needle to the 4th notch. I have emailed him but have not received an answer. Anyone care to jump in with an explaination?

Why would you go down one size on the pilot jet unless it's running rich? I am really considering changing my pilot jet also. My low end doesn't seem as powerful as it should be with the HMF. It actually feels similar to stock low end. My mid range and top end are just nuts though. But, I have no clue why he would do that? I would consider going UP one size.
