I want to replace these o-rings because I know they have to be pinched or going bad! How hard is this to do (ie what page of the service manual shows this). Also, where do I purhcase these rings and how much are they?

How long will it take a novice back yard mechanic to do this repair?

I would not recommend this for a novice, as it involves a lot of disassembly... plus you're working inside the transmission and have to be sure everything is kept free of dirt and debris.

I'm fairly well mechanically inclined and not too thrilled with the idea of doing it myself. I'm on a new mission... get Honda to either fix this machine, take it back, or replace it. Just have to find a dealer that may help in the quest.

Thanks Robg, I was going to try and acomplish this task on my own...i guess if it gets to really bad then I will tear into it. as of now it just has a low top end 56MPH with 26" mudlites I know some of this is due to the tires but i cant see 8MPH difference in the tires can ya?
