I can not figure out how to remove the old chain, does not seem like there is enough clearance to work around cam chain

Working on lower end only, did not remove head.

have removed tensioner and tensioner assembly and pick up tube assembly from other side.

many tips or references to a thread that addresses this would be appreciated

To get it to work, start with positioning the oil chain parallel to the crankshaft.

then jiggle it a bunch and turn and twist the oil chain, it will eventually works its way out.

I found it was NOT the narrow part of the chain that eventually passes thru.

basic points:

mark the cam chain and sprocket with a sharpie or punch to retain timing.

remove cam tensioner assembly. This includes the outside three bolt assembly as well as the main component within the case. I also had to remove the stator pin

Shove the oil pickup tube aside

remove oil pickup tub on the passenger side of crankshaft

Why go through trouble of swapping oil pump chain and not the pump orings, or even better the cam chain after checking the cam lobes???
