Ok, I am thinking about purchasing the 450R for myself and letting my wife drive the Rincon. I was wondering if anyone has seen, rode, or read anything about the bike. The only article I could find had nothing but praise about the bike!! I have never owned a sport ATV so would be a newbie at this. I have owned a 250XR dirtbike and TONS of Utility atv's...so i am not new to the sport...only new to sport ATV's. Are there any other Sport bikes like yamahaa or something that might be better...Keep in mind I LOVE HONDAS DURABILITY!! 5MPH to me is not worth the lack of quality.

I have two buddies that just got there 450R

They're great

I have a 88 330R and my wife has a Rincon

I keep telling her that it's hers that was the only way
I could get it

About the only time she rides is when we goto Little Sahara

It works out great having both you can use your utility

when you want then get on the sport when you want to have
some different fun

I highly recommend having both

My personal opinion on the 450R is that I'm sure it's a quality machine, but I will never own one... because it's kickstart only.

I think Honda alienated a great deal of their audience by making it kickstart only. Yamaha at least had the good sense to make the YFZ450 electric start with the option of removing the battery and starter and putting on a kickstart, for the die-hards who want to save weight, or for racers. This way it appeals to a broader audience.

i bought a new 05 450r in october and wow!! what a machine. the kickstart is not an issue for me but is to some. it usually starts 1st kick but nomore than 2 or 3. i look at it as a detail, at least i wont have to worry about a battery or a loose connection on a starter, and then have to take off a fender to use the kick. the performance is astounding i can pull a wheel in 1st-4th gears and acceleration is phenomenal. this is a high maintenance machine though. oil has to be changed after every 6-10 hours of riding time but it takes less than a quart to change it and can be done in about 10 mins.
i don't think you'd regret that purchase one bit and your jaw will probably hurt from smiling!!!
