My question is what is the physical differences between the Ramsey 2500 and the Ramsey 3000? Is there a way to tell one from the other by examining them?

My new 2500 that I purchased, came in a sealed from the factory box labeled 2500. The paperwork in the box says 2500. The labels on the winch both say 3000. I don't know if the winch is mislabeled or the box is mislabeled.

Any tips on mounting on a Rincon are appreciated as well.

I'm starting to think they are charging 50 bucks for the "3000" sticker. On Ramseys' site I can find no difference in specs or diagram or anything. I am thinking if anything it would be upgraded contactor, wiring, or something but it all appears the same.

I agree, I can not see any differance between the 2500 and the 3000. I think the line speeds are even the same. I do have a 3000.
