I would like to remove my front rack, but I am a little concerned about the rack mounts that go right above the shock. You guys think that the rack is a structural member between the shock posts? I have seen pics of races and seen some Rincons without the front racks in the race. Just looking for some opinions.

I don't think it's structural in that way, but it does add structure to the front subframe, which is the wimpy piece that the front bashplate mounts to. This is the piece that I bent the first night I had the machine when I hit a rock that I didn't see. If the machine had a better bashplate it wouldn't have happened. A new one cost me $100.

jeff, yes you can take it off, and yes you will need to support it. like mike p from team green kawi does to his. when kawi gives him a bike, he first takes the racks off and puts a support across the top. team rincon in the baja had theirs supported.
