Today while I was out ridding on a big trail ride I had my first problem. I have an 04 Rinocon with a little over 200 miles. While I am ridding say if I stop and change gears using Automode real fast and move the lever into reverse I hear it change but when I give gas it will not move. So I change gears back to drive and again nothing. So I decide to turn it off sometimes it will
then change gears fine. Also if I would wait for a few seconds it would shift fine sometimes. This had occured to me around 5 times today. If anyone has experienced this or would know what it would be I would truely appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi wvrincon!
I had the same thing happen to mine this summer,I was under water pretty deep and i got stuck so i had to back out.The muffler was under water and i was scard it was gonna stall so i didn't let go the throttle enough and it did the same thing you discribe above.I never thought much about it, felt to me like it was a safety from the computer,to make sure you don't abuse your transmission just like your reve limiter protect your engine.

Try setting the idle speed to the factory recommended speed, then reset the ECU so it recognizes the Throttle Position Sensor setting. The 'How To' is in another topic is this forum.

Hey thanks for some imput. I have been told about the throttle idle to bump down some. I will try this as soon as I get my tire fixed due to a whole in it also just reset the ECM tonight. I had the local shop set the idle but they may have bumped it a little high. I have rode 3 times since they adjusted it but not reset the ECM since then might be key there. Also someone told me might be due to the motor still breaking in with only around 250-270 miles on it that the idle might change. Hope that will fix it hopefully only 5 months left on warrenty.

Thanks again

Mine almost has 200 on it...I have changed the idle speed because the shop I bought it from are idiots and had it so low that it would try to die if I let it just idle...I guess I should reset the ECU (maybe this is why I cant seem to get over 53 MPH with stock everything) It used to run high 60's when i first got it....03Rincon, maybe new years day we could ride and you can take a look at my machine?? Or even the weekend after new years?

rindong, I noticed you are also from huntsville, AL. If you would like to meet up with me and 03rincon (both huntsville) to ride semd me an email, we can exchange info...my email is in my profile for members to view.

03rincon, I have a handheld GPS that I could haul with me. However, the bike actually feels slower at speed...? Have fun hunting!
