Has anyone heard of having to put a lighter weight oil in your tranny of your rincon? I had a hell of a squealing sound and slipping coming from my tranny in my '03 when I first bought it and the dealer put a lighter weight oil in the tranny and it seemed to fix it. Just curious if this has happened to anyone else???

I believe your talking about the "whirring" type of noise. My friends 2003 does it all the time when the engine is cold. Mine used to do it every once in awhile, it went away for good when I put Rotella synthetic in it.

The noise is supposedly cause by a bevelled washer on or near the torque converted (so I have read) They said you can replace it with a flat one and the noise goes away. It's nothing bad happening, it's just something in the torque converter (for sure) spinning inside of cold, thick oil.
