Guys, My rincon is bone stock with about 200 miles on it. The only think i did was adjust the air/gas mixture screw to 2.5 turns out, and when it began to backfire like mad I put it back to factory settings of 1.75 turns out. Somewhere in this timeframe I seem to have gone from 62MPH top end to 52MPH. What on earth would cause a 10MPH loss?? Would the valves cause this? I am going to get those checked and adjusted as soon as posible. But it seems to me that would only effect the response and not the top end? Should I reset the Computer?? If so please give directions...

Hi Jason,
Did you change tire size? My 2003 Rincon did 67 m.p.h. the first day I rode it with stock 25" tires. I changed to 27" Swamp Witch tires and it cut my top end to 56 m.p.h.

Sounds Great 03rincon, Are you doing anything christmas eve day? I have to leave that night to do the family thing...I will also have the whole weekend to ride as well. I am sending you some info in email.

I still need to know what to tell AutoZone (ie. size part number something). I am still running BONE STOCK! that means with the 25" tires and no rejetting ect. It just seemed to have lost all ability to pull beyond 48-50 MPH

You dont have to make a special trip man. I can just get it after work today, and run back out to north parkway to autozone. I live out near new market so North Parkway isnt to far. Thanks for the offer though!

Here are the spark plug numbers right from the owners manual.

Spark Plug (Standard): IFR5L11 (NGK) or VK16PRZ11 (DENSO)

Spark Plug (High speed riding): IFR6L11 (NGK) or VK20PRZ11 (DENSO)

NGK and DENSO are two different brands of spark plugs, incase you didn't know. The stock spark plug in the Rincon is a DENSO.

My top end was about 63 stock. I am trying to get it tuned for more (64-65) with the mods I have now.

parkgt, those computer reinitialization instructions do not help performance any.

Hey 03Rincon, maybe we can get together and ride sometime. And I'll be sure not to tell Doreen's parents about that "In-Laws" comment! Hehe. I'm having the Rincon shipped to Dad so you can install the jet kit and PowerTech 4 for me. Please? And I'll pick up a new trailer while in Huntsville. Merry Christmas and see you next week!

Yellow650Rincon,

I have never tried the reset myself, never felt I needed to; Jason had asked for the instructions.

My Rinny has 201 miles on it and is encumbered with quite a bit of heavy stuff, I weigh 210 lbs yet it still hit 61 last week. It seems to have gotten a little stonger and faster.

I have a jet kit and Uni filter on order. Don't need more speed, just want all the low and midrange power I can get. Can't wait for the modules to come out.

Merry Christmas to all Rinny Riders,

Greg

Thanks Yellow650Rincon...I think I am going to try the "high speed" spark plug...Maybe this will give me the extra umph!

03Rincon, when we get together this weekend, maybe you could ride my bike and see if you can "feel" what is wrong?? Since you are a mechanic and good with that stuff you might be able to tell me why its not going as fast. Asumming that the plug doesn't change anything.
