The only problem I've had with mine was the water pump, and it was kinda my fault. After reading alot about the weep hose mod on here, I thought "I'll worry about that later." The bad part is I waited until I saw it leaking coolant out on the trailer, looked and the weep hose was gone. I used to suggest tires as the first mod to someone, but now it will be the water pump weep hose especially if you do any mud/water riding.

Power : Plenty enough for me, is quicker than my Poopoo Sportsman 600.

Handling and comfort : Excellent at mid to high speed. At low speed on technical stuff, I tend to roll mine! Maybe it's just me! SS wheels and Bighorns have improved this alot, but it's still not perfect.

Seat : Cannot get mine to 'seat'! correctly.

Would love a low gear.

This water pump mod - is that applicable to the 07 model? If so can someone point me to the relevant post/solution? Thanks!

Thanks all for the information. I never expected this much info. I normally check once a day or so when I am on "break" at work.

I have seen a lot of people re-gearing their machines. What gears are changed - tranny (1,2,or 3)or differential? Where can I find the gears?

Has anyone played with the cam?

I know the low end power is bad with the 3 speed tranny. Just looking for ways to improve it without sacrificing reliability.

its the finally gear in the tranny there gearing... i would leave it alone tho... i dont think they have it quiet right yet... there a few ppl that have played with the cams..

Personally, the mod to a water pump is easy, cheap, and invisible. I have looked at the new design and believe it is only a small improvement and still is farked up. My 03 has 6600 miles and looses no coolant. I have added maybe 2 tablesspoons since I ve owned it. The foot brake on mine is fine. Im on original back and front brake pads.

Great machine, Im just tired of the same old Rincon. Need some new Honda technology.

P.S. my original post years ago about the water pump fix is in here somewhere and works on the new ones. It may be in the WIKI. If you can't find it PM me. It moves the vent line opening up under the tank. If you go seat deep in water you may want to even go higher on the exit point.

07 honda rincon 680

My honda Rincon wont shift into reverse. I have to shut it down and put it into reverse to get it to go. When I try to shift into reverse it grinds the gears. The salesman says I have to adjust the shifter cable. Where do I start and begin.

RPM to high and/or shift cable needs adjustment would be my 1st checks.... refer to the chapter sub trans and shift linkage 12-15.

hello friends, 05 rincon 650 second gear slips when cold. after it works for 30 minutes, the second gear works, but if I force it, it slips again, the first and third gears work perfectly when cold and hot, does anyone know what it could be, has anyone else had similar symptoms?
