this is my first post. but mine started doing this saturday while goin duck hunting. i have a completely stock bike except for 25 inch 589's. mine was as strong as an ox until i hit a dried up mud hole that had deeper ruts than my 25's. as soon as that happened it fell on its face and hasnt had any power. i have changed my oil and cleaned the air filter checked intake and exhaust for restictions. cant figure it out. top speed right now is 30mph wot. this was all of a sudden thing that happened. i am baffled on this. by the way my inner tie rod on the front brake lever side broke earlier that morning. i dont think that had anything to do with it. but who knows.

well after 4 hours of stripping the body parts and i got to the wiring harness. i cleaned all the connectors and used dielectric grease on every connecter.then i backed it out of my shop and gave it a test run. i can actually say that all i done was water proof my wiring harness, because it did not fix my problem. i did find moisture in a round white connector by the recoil starter. no corrosion was found on any of the connectors.

i did realize something though, if i have it in auto mode and hit the gas and the switch it ouver to esp before its supposed to shift into second, esp on the screen shows its in second when it should still be in first. so i shifted down into first and it felt like it did but the power was still the same(weak).

i am loading it up on my lunch break tomorrow to take it to the stealership. talked to them and told them i only want it diagnosed, and they said they could get right on it for that. maybe if i can find out whats the matter with it quickly ill let yall know.

im bald now because of the problem, hope yall dont get the way i have.

dealership called me this afternoon and told me to come pick it up. they said my carb was full of dirt and stuff. all they done was a complete disassemble and a good cleaning on the carb. the said it runs like a new one now. they told me my bowl was somewhat clean but it was the rest of the internals that was dirty. somewhere near the diaphram.
