The Rincon has a built-in oil pressure gauge - the transmission. The tranny will start to slip the second the oil pressure gets too low. And if the oil pump drive chain comes off the pump's sprocket, you'll have zero oil pressure, and zero movement.

(I assume you're talking about an oil pressure gauge to monitor the pressure while you're riding)

My 03 Rincon will slip/ over rev until oil gets warm
Oil is full with dip stick unscrewed
Top speed is only about 50 mph, but runs good
it has kn filter, super trapp exhaust
I bought it used, but seems like it is jetted correctly
just wondering if it was the O ring thing I have been reading about
Thanks,
Mike

I made one sometime back. I still have it. Look for the thread in mechanical- maintenance "slipping tranny on hill climb" or something like that. The fitting is an 8mm bolt drilled through. I tapped a piece of hex and welded it to the bolt. The hex has 1/4" NPT. The brass section is just a 1/4NPT to compression fitting and the rest is standard. The only problem with getting something to work is the 8mm 1.25 thread.

That's pretty slick. If someone could find a source of an actual 8mm x 1.25 pitch oil fittings, it would be nice to have a wiki on building your own oil pressure test setup.

That would be cool. I'm sure a person could buy a gauge and fitting way cheaper than the honda tool. For someone who doesn't do rincon pressure checks the savings would be worth it, even if you had to check 1st, 2nd and 3rd one at a time.

According to the 2007 manual,

Gauge set #07406-0020005

Oil Pressure Gauge 0-160 psi #07ZMJ-HN2A100

Adapter, Banjo #07AMJ-HN8A100 (USA only)

I searched for an hour last nite for these part numbers or 8 x 1.25 mm fitting.
Couldn't find either. Found a bunch of 8 x 1.0mm but not the 1.25. Please let us know what the correct part number is ATVtech.

the website you want is
www.discounthydraulichose.com
on the right side of the page, under fittings and adapters.
click on british and metric.
click on part #9605
there will be a bunch of parts listed.
the part # you want is 9605-04-08x1.25
this is a 8x1.25 straight thread adapter with a male #4 jic on the opposite end. you can then adapt the #4 jic to anything. jic a standardized fitting in the hydraulics world and they make millions of adapters to get you connected to almost anything like pipe threads, bsp, bspp, compression, you name it

also dont forget to order a few of part # 9500-08mm
these are the sealing washers you will be using to seal the metric adapter to the enging port.
i would suggest using these over the (honda) aluminum crush style washers only because they actually fit the 9605 metric fitting better.
use the crush washers under the bolt heads when you finish and reassemble the plugs.
hope this helps
