Idle is VERY high, where is the IACV ?

I started my 07 Rincon up this morning and it was revving very high. Thought it was because it was cold (30 degrees) but after 10 minutes it was still revving high.

Tried it 3 times throughout the day and it would idle very high.

Just read on here where the IACV was causing this to happen. I've had my Rincon for just over a year but bought the extended warranty, which I hope it covers this problem.
But where is this IACV located? Anyone have a pic? THANKS !!!

Click on search and enter IACV for the past year. Plenty of pics and advice. IMO its the grease they put on it. I pulled the IACV and carefully wiped it off , and carefully put it back together and it works fine. That was after I had a new one installed.

well that dang google one I thought was the only one. then I got to thinking about the pull down menus and found it there. you would think though with this iacv valve and honda using too heavy a grease apparently they would have changed something. or maybe not enough of em are reported.

I just worked on mine again after the Rincon cut my hunting short this afternoon. I took plenty of pics so I'm gonna try to add them to the Wiki. If not, I guess I'll start a new thread. Here is where the IAC Valve is located.

This is what it looks like

Your gonna need a T20 Tamper Proof Torx Head bit to get the screws out. The end of the bit has to look like this:

Guys here is a little tip for ya, even if your not going to buy the IAC from a dealer call them with the part number from a online parts store and ask him how much it will cost you and if they have it in stock, that way if and when Honda supersedes the part number with a new and improved one they will tell you over the phone it has been changed to a new number. I am so sneaky I scare myself sometimes. /CFIDE/scripts/ajax/FCKeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/wink_smile.gif

na. I still have warrenty. and even if I didn't honda place I bought it at told me that they would still fix it. it is a shame that the dealer I bought it from is 3 hours away. they were willing to send me a new iacv valve for me to install. I told em I wanted to just clean it first and then if that did not work I would call em back. the dealer that is right down the road are retarda and I knew more about my bike and all the rest of hondas line compared to them.

Has anyone done this recently? I took mine out to check it and turned the key on to see how it works. The motor turns a screw that adjusts it up and down. With it out it just spins with the screw. This will get out of adjustment! I had to manually screw it back down to adust it so that it can go down far enough to close the air flow and idle your engine down. I would bet people that have done this and it didn't correct the idle problem probably needed to make sure it is adjusted correctly. Also it will only fit back in one way, there is a little brass pin inside the hole that has to line up with the slot that is in the IACV device.

I just checked cheapcycleparts.com and a new IACV is like $43. I think eaither the nut or shaft get stripped a little and that is what causes the problem.

How are you supposed to clean the IVAC once its apart?

I took mine out and sprayed it with MAF sensor cleaner (only thing I had) then wiped it with a q-tip. Sprayed once more and reinstalled. I never took the sensor apart.
